Capt. Antonio Joseph “Jopet” Rivera Inton

Early Life and Education
”’Antonio Joseph R. Inton, or “Jopet””’ as he is fondly called, was born in ”Barangay San Pedro, Hermosa, Bataan” from parents who are both natives of Hermosa.
He started the first three (3) years of his elementary education at the ”Hermosa Elementary School” and eventually finished both elementary and high school at The Peninsula School in Limay, Bataan. He became a working student in college at the University of Baguio, graduating therein with a Commerce Degree.
After college, he immediately started working as a Christmas casual salesman in one of the biggest appliance centers in the country and was quickly promoted as Sales Supervisor because of his hard work, dedication, perseverance, skills, trustworthiness and dependability. He eventually joined several manufacturing and export companies. He also set up his own furniture business and became an active member of the Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines.
He soon expanded his network and landed a job as Executive Assistant in one of the Mayors in Nueva Ecija for a year and later became a Municipal Administrator in Pandi, Bulacan for four years. He subsequently served in the Offices of the Governor of the Province of Bataan and the Congressman of the Second Congressional District of the same province.
In Congress, he served as Consultant of Congressman Albert S. Garcia where they passed several local legislations to benefit the Province of Bataan. One of the more important pieces of legislation championed by their office was RA 9728: An Act Converting the Bataan Economic Zone into the Freeport of Bataan or FAB, thus giving Bataeños more job and business opportunities. During his tenure in the said office, he was able to help bring billions worth of infrastructure projects in the province. Jopet also facilitated the entry of anchor investments in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB). This effort cascaded into more investments that brought more economic development and employment opportunities in the entire province.
Heeding the persistent call for public service, Jopet ran in the 2016 elections as Mayor of Hermosa. He was successfully proclaimed as the winning candidate on the evening of May 9, 2016, election day, with a historic margin of more than six thousand (6,000) votes over his opponent. He has been actively pursuing more development programs for his hometown, seeking more investors especially for the Hermosa Economic Zone. It is his dream to create as much employment and means of livelihood for his townsfolk as he could and uplift the lives of every Hermoseño.
Jopet also counts being a registered Rescue Scuba Diver and a licensed Commercial Helicopter Pilot as two of the multiple skills he has developed over the course of his career.
Mayor Jopet Inton is married to Atty. Anne Lorraine C. Adorable-Inton and they are blessed with a daughter, Anne Margarette.
